Covid-19 Season Update
We hope all of our families are doing well and staying healthy. We wanted to provide an update with regards to our timeline for hopefully starting the season after Governor Pritzker extended Illinois' Stay At Home Order through at least April 30 this afternoon.

For EGGS this means that the soonest we will be able to be on the field is Friday, May 1. It also means that we now have confirmation that some events on our calendar will have to be moved around and there is no way we will be able to play this season as planned on our original timeline. With regards to specific events:
-BINGO Night, which was scheduled for Saturday, April 18 will be rescheduled
-Picture Day which had been scheduled for Sunday, April 26 will also be rescheduled
With regards to our practice and game schedule we are asking that every family please take just a couple of minutes to complete the survey that can be found below. This will enable us to craft a modified schedule for this season that we hope will work for the vast majority of our families. We ask that you please complete the survey no later than next Friday, April 10, so that we can begin piecing an alternate calendar together.
Please know that all of us on the EGGS Board continue to hope for the very best of health for all of you, your families and the community as a whole as we continue to work through these challenges. It is our sincerest hope that we are able to get on the fields in May and provide the girls a season that they will enjoy and hopefully bring everyone some feeling of normalcy. In the meantime please feel free to reach out with any questions and please stay healthy and safe.

2020 EGGS Advisory Board Seated

As is the case every year we said good bye to a couple of board members after the 2019 season and the Advisory Board for the 2020 Season has been installed. The new board is listed below but we would be wrong not to recognize the contributions of Scott Wadas, Millie McLane and RJ Gomez who left the board after last season. The contributions of these individuals can't be overstated and our program is better in the long run for the contributions they made to it. Thank you Scott, Millie and RJ, we could not be more appreciative for your service. Here is your 2020 Board with email contact information:

If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding the program please do not hesitate to reach out to any board member. Feedback from the families of the program is what enables us to continue to grow and enhance the program.

FIRE and Fall Ball

While EGGS is a house level program where the emphasis is always on learning and improving skills, having fun and creating lasting memories for the girls we do realize that there are many girls in the program who want an extended experience beyond what the regular house season can provide. We are excited to say that we successfully fielded three FIRE Teams in the summer of 2019 who competed in local tournaments in July and early August and more than 30 EGGS players competed in Roselle's Fall Ball League which was designed exclusively for house level players. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive and we will continue to look for additional opportunities for those girls who want to remain part of the house program but have access to additional games outside of that season.

One way we hope to accomplish that is by expanding our FIRE Program in 2020. Tryouts will be held for the 2020 teams in late March/early April and the FIRE teams will practice weekly in April to begin to come together as teams. We then hope to have these teams compete in games against other house level tournament teams on Sundays during the house season before moving onto tournaments in July and early August. EGGS is also exploring the possibility of hosting a FIRE tournament in the summer of 2020.

An exact schedule of tryouts and a fee schedule will be available in early 2020 and we will communicate that information as soon as it is finalized. If you are interested in managing or coaching at the 10U, 12U or 14U levels please reach out to Jamie Andrade or Matt Smith to express your interest.

Your Feedback Leads to Rules Changes

Every year at the conclusion of the season we send a survey to the families of the program to get their feedback on their experience over the preceding season. The feedback we receive is a big part of how we advance the program and tweak it to enhance the experience for everyone. While the feedback we receive annually is usually very positive there are always suggestions made on things that can be changed.

One area that we received extended feedback on after this past season is that some families felt like their daughters were sitting out more than other girls on the team or spending too much of the game in the outfield, especially at the lower levels, which took away from their enjoyment of playing. This directly contradicts the goals of the program as we strive to provide an enjoyable experience for all of the girls. As a result we are going to modify our playing time rules to ensure better balance between infield and outfield play as well as innings on the bench. We believe that these rules will better reflect the goals of the program and improve the overall enjoyment for all of the girls who play.

We Want To Hear From You

Our program benefits greatly from tremendous volunteer support but even if you are unable to volunteer your feedback is ALWAYS welcome and appreciated. Our Board Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm (8:00pm in April, May and June when we are in season) at the Al Hattendorf Center and are always open to the public. If you have any questions or concerns about the program please feel free to join us. Also, our meeting minutes are always available on our website for your review. If you have any program specific questions you can always email President Nick Moser at or any other board member.

With that we wish all of you the happiest and healthiest of holiday seasons!
